03/24/18 My Aunt Cee’s old horse Fred coliced Saturday night. My colleague who now owns the horse asked me to be there for her as this is her first horse and since my horse before Ed had coliced I knew what she would be looking at financially. While the vet was giving her horse four IV bags she would take smoking breaks and drink wine from her bottle. I stayed with her from 2 in the afternoon till 5 when she left and stated that she might not be back after getting fast food and stopping by at the house I went back out and stayed until 11 at night. What is typed below is a status I had posted on Facebook that night.Fred is doing well but words can not even begin to describe what happened last night. I’m just amazed at how totally ignorant people can be. I brought my Aunt out to help hold him so we could switch out. He got back up and laid down several times and the last time he ended up getting his legs caught. I called over Bill and Poppy to help me get his legs uncaught, we later moved him to the round pen. He was walking around and had normal gut sounds at this point when the owner finally came back out after dinner and seeing how she felt even though he needed observation. As soon as she got out of the car she came over yelling at us. Bill was trying to say being out in the round pen was good because that way if the worse was to happen there would be easier access to him than him being in the stalls. She screamed at him to leave the property. After he had left she proceeded to scream at me saying that I’d betrayed her and that it’s her horse and she gets to make the decision on where he’ll be and how he’s taken care of after of course only hours before she’d wanted me there to help her with the decisions. Even if she was drinking (as she was earlier that day) or stressed does not give you the right to treat someone like that. -- source link
