nerdyfangirling: Klaine Advent: Day Two: Broadway January 2016 Kurt dodges a tourist, then another, and keeps looking at his phone as he and Blaine dash up Broadway. “There are two addresses for Circle in the Square. 235 West 50th, and 1633 Broadway. This is so fucking confusing.” They have tickets to Fun Home and if they’re late they won’t be seated at all. This is the most stressed he’s been since the Alexander Wang sample sale. Checking against the address, Blaine shakes his head and shoves Kurt down 50th Street. They see signs for Wicked, but that’s it, and at this point Kurt is rueing the thoughtful and expensive Christmas present from his dad and Carole. Blaine rubs a hand across his back, firm and comforting all at once, with just the right amount of pressure. ‘I’m here,’ it says, and ‘relax, but I’m saying it nicely and with love.’ They find the theatre, finally, and are seated at 8:02. Kurt breathes a sigh of relief, and removes his coat and scarf. As Blaine is doing the same, he says, “Oh, that’s right, this is where we saw Audra McDonald do Billie Holiday.” Kurt whips his head towards Blaine, ready to be mad that he’s only remembering now – but then Kurt realizes he could’ve remembered, too. As the lights go down, he tips his forehead to Blaine’s shoulder. “We’re getting forgetful in our old age,” he whispers. He takes his hand, and the show begins. [PS - This is based on a VERY true story, wherein my wife and I had this exact problem while going to this theatre to see Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar. Like the boys, we thankfully made it in time.] [Also I really want to go see Fun Home.] reblogging myself to say: 1. dreams come true, am seeing fun home tomorrow! 2. i now know how to get there. -- source link
