kimmycup: i-am-irondad: notrustliar: iron–spider: dawnchaser: whumpxng: tony facing his guilt seeing peter as one of the fallen avengers endgame in potato quality Remember that it’s been established that Tony always wears his sunglasses when he’s feeling guarded. Hence why he never wears them with Pepper, who he can be completely himself with. He definitely wears them in this scene when he’s in the room with his former teammates, who he’s justifyingly infuriated with. But when he’s looking at Peter’s picture? He looks OVER his glasses. With his own eyes. Then as Peter’s picture fades, he pushes them back up. Oh my fucking god. in context to this, I have this habit that whenever I get teary eyed or feel myself breaking down in any way whatsoever, my first reflex is to push my glasses back so that nobody sees me cry. idk but I feel like the amount of humanness rdj brings to tony is very often overlooked. We should probably address that this is probably the first time he’s seen Peter’s face since he died in his arms! Can you imagine the pain in that? He sees a picture of the kid, that he cared about and loved, who died in his arms begging to be saved. This is more than survivor’s guilt, it’s heart-wrenching. But he does keep a picture of Peter in his kitchen in plain view because he never really wanted to forget him or give up on him. A picture of Peter leads to Tony developing time travel and saving the world. Now that’s powerful shit. THIS IS ANOTHER FUCKING LEVEL OF PAIN, THANKSalso hasn’t it been like three months in space so he hasn’t seen Peter’s face really long? -- source link
