hudders-tea:librarylock:shrlckholmes:#sherlock fighting is my aestheticI don’t care what y'all say, I love watching Sherlock’s coat go swishy swoop while he fights.I only wish they had stayed more canonically correct and had him fighting using Baritsu. The fight was a bit too blunt for me.I’d love it more if it was baritsu, but I suppose maybe they don’t have enough time and budget to teach ben baritsu and rehearse it enough for it to be believable? Coz I remember Ben mentioned previously when he made a comparison of the pros and cons of big budget films like Dr strange vs tv films like Sherlock, he said that for Dr strange he’s given plenty of time ( like weeks or months) to rehearse fight scenes choreography, meanwhile with the tighter budget of Sherlock there’s only like two days of rehearsal and then it’s time to shoot. So I guess bearing that in mind, I understand why they didn’t do baritsu style fighting in this scene. Coz knowing how big of a fanboy gatiss and moffat are, I bet they too would prefer more canonical reference, but perhaps it’s not so feasible considering budget and schedule limitations? :) -- source link
