She’s no longer a movie star but an attractive young woman like many others who’ve come to New York to learn and to grow into their vocation, whatever that might be. Monroe was in the city waiting out a contract dispute with her studio in Hollywood. She spent the time studying her craft at the Actors Studio, meeting and talking with interesting people and just basically discovering who in the world she might be. -- source link
