Spanish and Filipino. It wasn’t until recently that I discovered that I’m also part Arab (by descent on my father’s side). I guess it made sense since he’s from southern Spain. My mother on the other hand is 100% Filippina, or so she claims. Fun fact: my mom’s nickname is Suzie Wong, after the movie. I was told that she was teased by relatives for having a more “asian” eyes than her siblings. Jokes on them, because she embraced the nickname and is proud of her namesake that that is how she introduces herself to people. (Her real name btw, is Georgina.)
