languagie: Week 1 of languagessi’s Langblr Activation Challenge INTRODUCTION POST Hello there! My name is Caoimhe and I am an Irish student in Trinity College Dublin. I’m in the 4th year of my undergrad and will graduate soon. I am in a program called Two Subject Moderatorship which means I studied two subjects for three years and then in my fourth year chose one of those subjects to major in, dropping the other. I did French and Spanish and chose to major in French. I’m very happy with those languages. However, I worked on my Spanish more in high school and the beginning of university, but I chose to focus on French more as I met many French friends in university and I believe it gives me more professional opportunities. I went to Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle University in France for my ERASMUS exchange year in 2017-18. I currently have a part time job as remote customer service for a French website. I also study Korean quite a bit, I attend night class once a week and have Korean friends and also attend Korean church. I went to Korea last year on a one month scholarship to the Academy of Korean Studies in Seongnam and I really enjoyed it. I’m hoping to move to Korea next year, and so I am applying to the Global Korea Scholarship for a Masters in French Linguistics at Korea University. I am also applying to the TaLK rural teaching program. I took TOPIK II in November 2019 and missed Level 3 by only 6 points, so I will take it again in May. I hope to become a translator-interpreter in Korea someday, as there are few people in that sector who are able to work in three European languages as well as Korean. Thank you for reading my post! I hope other langblrs try out this tag. I am a serial lurker on tumblr and have never really posted anything aside from a few vocabulary or book lists, but I am excited to revive the community as my dash has been slowly dying of late. -- source link
