2016 Christmas Weekend -We celebrated our first Christmas in our first and forever home. I spent most of the day cooking on Christmas Eve before going to mass at a new church. I admit this year has been full of bittersweet moments but I think Christmas Eve has be #1 on that list. As I sat in the new church all I could do was think of how this felt so wrong and that I miss the way the lights twinkled in my home parish while the choir would sing so beautifully that I would cry reminiscing all of the years that my Dad would be sitting next to me while I would hold both of my parents’ hands.I know that some traditions can’t be kept forever and that new memories will be made but it still makes my heart hurt a bit. It was a good Christmas though. We celebrated with our family that keeps getting bigger each year it seems. Lots of laughter and gift giving. J actually surprised me and went out shopping with my Mama and they both bought me a real gift, not the “what do you want?” type of gifts. J got me Rosetta Stone because I am forever fascinated with learning and my Mama got me a mini speaker so I can decompress after a long day by myself with music. I love the gifts but most of all I love the thoughtfulness behind them. -- source link
