At first glance the small tourist town of Hoi An is totally charming. It got European architecture, tons of nice cafes and restaurants, tailor and souvenir shops, river boat rides, comfortable climate, nice hotels, and a busy local market. What else a traveler could need? I quickly found out that it is peace and quiet that a traveler might need in this place. It’s absolutely impossible to walk even 2 minutes without a Vietnamese harassing you to buy something. It’s so much worse than anywhere else I’ve ever been! You can’t even enjoy the town and its sights because you’re constantly interrupted by the local sellers. It’s beyond annoying for me!!! I was going to spend 4 days here but now I’m ready to get the fuck out of here ASAP, probably tomorrow to Hanoi. I would enjoy Vietnam so so much more if I was just left alone. -- source link
