Paris Fashion Week SS16: Day 2In order from left to right, Picks and Reviews by Mindy Pelayo Chloe SS16: Day two of Paris fashion week, and Chloe Spring/Summer 2015 set the pace for the rest of the shows to follow. The collection reminds the audience and viewers of ensembles you would toss over your beach apparel while vacationing and hitting the strip right after, as the pieces take inspiration from the bright clothing sold in Mexican flea markets with off-the-shoulder kaftans, Baja-California influenced dresses, and tracksuit pieces with rainbow colored detailing. Like Chloe’s last spring/summer season, looks were paired with laced sandals that included this season’s rainbow and nude leather detailing, and earth toned handbags covered in fringe. Although the thought of rainbow and multicolored clothing sounds daunting, they were incorporated subtly and appropriately, making for a feminine and airy collection. Chloe Spring/Summer 2016 is a collection perfect for all you beach babes hope they’re looking for inspiration on how to keep yourself effortlessly pretty and stylish during the hot months.Lanvin SS16: Seeming solitary and strong at first, the Lanvin Spring/Summer 2016 show took an expected turn by utilizing a concept of deconstruction and reconstruction with their pieces. At first, model strutted down the runway in sturdy, conservative looks as the color palette and patterns were solid and simple. As they progress, the looks evolved into classic deconstructed silhouettes with a spin. Strong suits became vests with distressing and extremely bold patterns, navy a-line dresses turned into shift dresses doused in sparkles and sequins, and everything suddenly transformed from serious/simplistic to a fun and yet again, a pattern clashing collection we can see trending this spring summer season. Although the clothing noticeably transformed, the shape of the shoes maintained, yet the patterns certainly did not. The shoes consisted of three shapes; a slouchy boot, a ballet flat-pump hybrid, and a pump. The slouchy boot varied in a hightop brown suede, a white reptile, and a black lowtop. The ballet hybrid maintained a black colorway while the pump takes the cake for having the most variety. They maintained their presents from start to finish, just evolving in pattern, color, and texture. The seemingly intimidating collection can easily be used as inspiration and to use for your own personal style!Manish Arora SS16: “Disco Gypsy” is the only way to sum up Manish Arora Spring/Summer 2016. This groovy collection brings Mediterranean dress silhouettes and the jewels and vibrancy of west Asian culture with a touch of 70s disco all in one rich collection. Manish Arora mish mashed multiple shapes from the use of shimmery pink bellbottoms to loud a-line maxi skirts, creating a centric and captivated looks that definitely grab the attention of everyone in the room. The details of the show included incredible scarves that could be found either draping around a model’s head or tied around the waist or chest to create more dimension and interest. The hair played a vital role in the show, varying from frizzy curls too long nomad braids, further emphasizing the eccentricity of the diverse collection. Mixed with bright oranges, pinks, yellow, and green, Manish Arora Spring/Summer 2016 was pleasantly overwhelming. -- source link
