inprogresspokemon: #789.5 - Cosmog are extremely rare and elusive Pokemon, known only to a select few in Alola. Called “the child of the stars” in ages past, they were believed to come from another world; only recent discoveries have begun to shed more light to their place of origin. Cosmog possess a frail, gaseous body that can be blown away by the slightest breeze. They are incapable of fighting, and will teleport away from danger if necessary. They mature very slowly, during which they grow by collecting dust from the atmosphere and absorbing light that falls on them. Though they are gaining mass, their gaseous body is actually going through a process of intense condensing, which cannot be interrupted. They are believed to be storing energy for their next stage of evolution. #790.51 - After evolving, Cosmoem remain motionless as if dead, protected by their sturdy golden shell. In the distant past, the king who ruled Alola in times of antiquity called it the “cocoon of the stars” and built an altar to worship it. Though considered genderless by our standards, it is believed that male Cosmoem evolve into the mighty Solgaleo once they have absorbed enough light. Compared to their previous maturation rate, Cosmoem grow rapidly, with their physical form soon unable to be contained by their protective shell. As their white fur grows in, they gain a regal, powerful appearance that once gave them the name “the beast that devours the sun.” Upon evolution, their ability to teleport is intensified, allowing them to open an Ultra Wormhole to another world.
