My name’s Isabella-Rose and my biggest #mixedgirlproblem was not being “Black enough” :/ whether it was from some random strangers telling me I didn’t sound Black or some distant family members/friends (low key) making me feel “bad” about not acting Black enough and Quieting my “asianess”. While also saying the world would only see me as a brown person; I never really found I fit in with the black community causing me to self isolate as a kid and try to consciously “act more Black”. Thankfully with some self reflecting and my mom and dad supporting me (in their own ways) I’ve found my happy medium and becoming more of myself everyday :) Im broadly #WesternAfrican, broadly #European #Brazilian #Chinese #Japanese, and #Filipino; and I identify as #Black and #Asian :)” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sep. 15 - Oct. 15 is #LatinxHeritageMonth!
