you’re not alone if you feel “weird” for identifying as a #poc. most automatically think of skintone and if you’re white presenting/assumed, you may count yourself out. it’s not about skintone. its a huge marginalized community as a whole. communities that don’t benefit from #whiteprivilege and #whitesupremacy. you have to be a #poc to be considered mixed in the first place. #poc #moc #woc are all considered everyone who isn’t strictly white. native american, indian, pacific islander, chinese, black, some latinos and even mixed. however, it’s also a term that some black people feel weird about using because they are discriminated against even from poc, and most may not have the same experiences. which is understandable. at the end of the day, it’s up to you if you would like to identify as one ofc. the second slide is a perfect example, someone tagged me in this video today and goes perfect with this question. this conversation needs to be had, especially during #latinxheritagemonth and #filipinoamericanhistorymonth. let’s chat. do you consider yourself a #poc? #mixedgirlproblems https://www.instagram.com/p/CUqXf2MFfQb/?utm_medium=tumblr -- source link
