mszombi:closetchildjapan:Angelic Pretty / Sugary Carnibalワンピース - closet child オンラインショップI read that as “Sugary Cannibal” at firstnow THAT’S a lolita print I’d like to see I remember when the entirety of lolita lost their goddamned minds over this dress, or at least that’s what it felt like, angelic pretty, sugary carnival, lolita, ahaha at this point it’s practically vintage.Reblogging a two-year-old post with my own tags just to point out 1. Angelic Pretty just rereleased Sugary Carnival as a MTO (made-to-order, aka they take orders in a specific window of time, then make and ship out the dresses)2. Y’all, I bought it. The Lavender jsk (aka no sleeves) with socks and a headbow. It’ll get here in like, October. And I can’t stop giggling about it, because I can remember when half the pics from meetups and half the outfit posts were just WALL TO WALL SUGARY CARNIVAL. It was nuts. At least once a week the secrets community had posts of people bitching about Sugary Carnival being Not That Great, or how they were sick of seeing it, or how creativity in Lolita had gone down the tubes and now everyone was just wearing Sugary Carnival with those big twin-ponytail wigs in bright colors. They rereleased it twice, at least!, and still the last time I saw it secondhand it was selling for retail price even with visible damage. Hell, people were selling cheap replicas of it for a while, back in the day.I made a post to rufflechat on facebook a few months ago that was like, “Somewhere out there is the Lolia dress that’s been sold/traded the most–that’s just been owned by more people than any other. Which dress do you think it is? I’d bet it’s a Sugary Carnival dress,” and many/most people agreed with me. (There were some good suggestions that it was just as likely to be a “starter” Bodyline dress like Love Nadia–the kind of thing you wear once or twice and then realize you want something much nicer, or that Lolita isn’t your thing after all, and then sell it again–whereas Sugary Carnival is a dream dress for a lot of people, who are therefore likely to hold onto it.) But I can remember my then-boyfriend seeing pictures of people in head-to-toe Sugary Carnival in 2010 and looking at me with concern and me being all “Oh ha ha I don’t wear that style of Lolita, I’m too old for it, I’d feel ridiculous” and here it is over a decade later and I’m like “Actually: fuck that. Cover me in pastel candy. I’m 41 and I give zero fucks.”Worst case scenario, I can always sell it. XD(Speaking of zero fucks given: I also bought the Girly Sticker Cutsew OP in blue, which was about half the price of my Sugary Carnival dress, and will get here within the week. I already have hot pink tights that will probably match. That seam is absolutely going to be across my titties, guaranteeing the dress will be an unflattering sack, but it’s gonna be a hella cute and comfy unflattering sack. It’s half cotton hoodie and half “oh geez some old Lisa Frank exploded on this.” Fuck Yeah. My only real worry is that after I get it I’ll only ever want to buy cutsew OP’s!) -- source link
