A bit about christmas in Japan!My knowledge is a little limited since I have a very… americanized host family, but here’s what I learned. It’s a very relationship-oriented holiday. People often go on christmas dates, instead of staying home with family like we do in Canada. Children and lovers are usually the only ones to receive gifts, though sometimes friends give eachother gifts. On Christmas Eve, we eat fried chicken (preferably KFC) and Christmas Cake, which is usually vanilla cake with either choco or vanilla icing, and strawberries. Children/Lovers/Etc usually only get one gift It’s not an official holiday It’s EXTREMELY commercial. -- source link
