janothar:jewish-demi-dragoneyes:interruptingpanda:myotpisgay:ninjaboots:president-vanellope:cloakstone69:this is to educate my non-American followers. This really is how the US sees itself. (and yes, 95% of the time, Florida = WHAT?!)wake up america… Please tell me you guys are kidding. Florida is like it’s own country I swearI’m from Florida and I can confirm this. Also, South Florida is basically Miami and alligators. As much as this doesn’t make sense when you see it on paper like this (and I have reblogged this without adding this comment before because it is pretty fucking funny):It actually makes a lot of sense in the context of America’s land acquisition. Originally, just the North and South in the sliver that was the US on the East coast. As the South expanded, they maintained a culture similar to that of the original eastern South (bc of plantations and slavery tbh). But up north, there was a greater divide in culture as you moved west due to the fact that the Northeast had been settled for a few hundred years while the Midwest was still “wild.” Western culture arose during the Gold Rush and other pioneer pushes West. And the Northwest… idk man.West Virginia should also be “what?!” by any reasonable definition. -- source link
