demisexualmeansnormal: mochacourse: weedcourse: demisexualmeansnormal: So @anonymous-asexual, are you gay, or aren’t you? Or only when it’s convenient to you? Their is a difference between calling yourself gay (because everything associated with you and everything relateable gets called gay) and other people calling you gay (to erase the nuances of your identity).Kinda like how I (bi) will call myself gay when I am comfortable doing so, however if anyone asks me if I’m straight or gay (under the assumption that I must be one or the other), I’m not gonna be happy about that. Also if they id as nb it’s their place to id or not id as gay. So… They get to opt-out of gayness when it’s convenient for them, is what you’re saying? How the hell did you get that from what they were saying? Tons of nb people have complicated relationships with gayness because of the nature of their gender, identifying closely with the material experiences of considering yourself and being considered “gay” while falling outside of the strict definition of “exclusively attracted to the same gender as you are”. -- source link
