The design of the Hilton in Pattaya, Thailand is an example of how design has been influenced by the properties of fabric. The fabric installation on the ceiling, composed of wave lines, is a prominent feature of the hotel. It creates a peaceful atmosphere, with the combination of the colour white and soft, artificial lighting to highlight the design. It gives a feeling of movement, without using actual fabric itself. Instead, the designer used the forms that fabric can create, due to its properties, which is what I wanted to capture during my experimentations. -- source link
