The Scorpion Rules by Erin BowGenre- Young AdultPublisher- Margaret K. McElderry Books Rating- ✮✮☆☆☆I received a copy of this book in exchanged for a honest review. In no way did the author or publishing company influence my review. For info on my book reviews click here Oh what a bother this book was to read! It started off so well too; it had a great plot drawn out and a love triangle that was actually original. But soon it became a long, boring book and I had to force myself to finish it.The plot could be so cool; Countries, in order to have peace, send one of their royal children to live as hostages. In order for the children’s safety, they must refrain from war or the child dies. But soon that plot is practically forgotten and its just the boring rebellion-attempt of Greta. Greta was 18, but I kept thinking she could only be in her early teens. She just wasn’t very mature. None of the other characters stood out to be at all. Talis, the AI dictator of the world (yeah, you read that right) could have been a great villain, but instead he came across as the low-budget version of Ultron. The love triangle; ugh. I won’t spoil it, but it could have been great and original and just fell flat. The first half of the book, Greta is all about Love Interest no. 1, to the point where she says she’ll do anything for him, until Love Interest no. 2 kisses her randomly and whoops! Its like she forgets about about LI.1. The book was slow moving, in fact in was layers upon layers of slow boredom. I don’t recommend it. -- source link
