newlifeahead: When I was a small child I would rise early in the morning and sit on the bathroom counter next to the sink, where my dad would pick me up and place me. I would wrap my small arms around my legs and watch and listen to him shaving. The smell of rich shaving cream would fill the air mixed with steam from the water filling the sink. The scratching sound as he would scrape the razor up on his rough looking cheeks, spotted with dark whiskers. Then the swishing sound as he would rinse the the razor. It was a think we did for the longest time, until he was deployed. When he returned? I no longer fit on the sink. And now? I have a Sir/Daddy who shaves me at the bathroom sink. And I watch him as he shaves me. The feeling of tradition and a special bonded closeness is the same. The smell and the sounds. All make me feel special and small. So hard to put this into words, but He found an amazing way into my heart with this. And it just makes me love him more. Thanks Daddy. (tn) -- source link
