So I survived day one in Japan! I was greeted by Pikachu at the airport of course and had some delicious shrimp tempura for dinner. The restaurant I ate in was run by an adorable elderly couple. Inside the restaurant was a raccoon statue (Tanuki) which are famous in Japanese folklore for being mischievous shape shifters. Now I’m going to spend my first night sleeping on a Japanese futon before day one of orientation tomorrow! So excited to make some new friends to explore with :) -- source link
