koipondering: “Рассвет”- Daybreak. The third of my Winter Soldier related pictures. Painting metal is a unique challenge and one that I have always enjoyed figuring out. The original Soviet themed arm for the Winter Soldier will remain my favorite aesthetically, although the newer dark Wakanda made one is stunning and I look forward to its own challenges in study. @imsebastianstan has such great physical presence in this phase of the Soldiers story, down to the body language. Getting to enjoy the expansion on the character in @falconandwintersoldier has inspired me to play back through and test new textures and angles. This features the use of a new paint to me @danielsmithartistsmaterials “McCracken black”. I do not usually use premade blacks but mix my own, however my local art store suggested it, and knowing my admiration for the amazing realistic works of Laurin McCracken I gave it a go, and found it is very similar to the black I mix myself however far less time consuming, it yields a velvet smooth matte and I must admit I’m smitten with it.
