A picture of Tokyo Bay (only a portion of it!) Tokyo is about two hours away from us, by train. But Tokyo Bay is considered the safest waters when it comes to tsunamis and typhoons. To the right is the museum of the Japanese battleship, Mikasa. Ahead, I believe is what we call ‘Monkey Island’. No, there are no monkeys there! And if you asked a native to show you to Monkey Island, they would have no idea what you were talking about. The story goes that a monk was stranded on the island and was almost swept out to sea, a monkey grabbed him and pulled him safely to shore. Today, after dark, no one is allowed on the island.
