Back home, we could only dream of a sushi go-round. The idea of the sushi go-round is that the sushi is on the conveyor belt for a limited amount of time to guarantee its quality and freshness. The other night, we went to Hamazushi, a 100 yen sushi go-round right outside of Naval Base, Yokosuka. Unless otherwise posted with a placard before the dish, it is assumed that the sushi is 100 yen (about $1 approximately). Above the conveyor belt, you can use a touch screen to order sushi that you have not seen or want to try (the price will also be listed if it is not 100 yen). There is one free drink here and that is green tea, which you make with the green tea powder and the hot water spout at your table/seat. Here, we tried their cheese french fries. Note: cheese doesn’t exactly taste like cheese! I decided to try a different kind of sushi, although I can’t remember if it is a sac from the fish or fish eggs. Either way, I closed my eyes and ate. Don’t be afraid to try new things, especially at a 100 yen sushi place! For dessert, I picked a ice cream stick, which turned out to be filled with bean paste. Pretty good, I might add! And a flan-like dessert. It wasn’t too sweet or too dull, just perfect! At the end, we stacked up our plates and called for the check. After counting the plates, we were given our receipt. The total came to 2,887 yen, or about $29 dollars. Pretty cheap for two of us! I plan on going back and sampling more soon! -- source link
