They had signs that said stuff about not putting kids on puberty blockers and so the group was clearly radical feminists (adjacent at least) and they didn’t put away their signs when asked So what? Are radical feminists not allowed to be served in public establishments? There are no placards visible in the photos provided, nor in the livestream. They do not look or behave aggressively and are at a pride establishment during and subsequent to a pride event — along with other patrons. A shirt saying “lesbians love women” is not enough to get someone kicked out of a bar in the gay village during Pride. bUt iT’s nOt aBoUT haTing LesBeAns u cRazY TeRVes The group asked to leave allege it is about hating lesbians, and allege that it’s because of their shirts, but the National Theatre’s account differs: We have multiple accounts from witnesses. They corroborate that a group who attended the Green Room restaurant on Friday 5 July were ultimately asked to leave the premises as a result of a series of disturbances. These began with their refusal to put placards out of sight that featured messages which upset other customers and contravened our visiting policy, and culminated in abusive behaviour towards our staff. The clothing, gender or sexuality of the group was not a factor in the decision, which was reluctantly taken on the basis of the group’s behaviour and what was said. The National Theatre must be an inclusive place for everyone, and that means asking visitors to conduct themselves in a way that respects that principle. Some of the placards in question, courtesy of peaktrans.org no less: Of course, either side (or both!) could be lying but since (as mentioned above) the definition on the shirt is trans-inclusive I find it hard to believe it was why they were asked to read. terfs please realise you are unpleasent people to be around. it’s not because some of you are women, it’s not because some of you are lesbians, it’s because all of you are insufferable, obnoxious, and a danger to the rights and wellbeing of others. Remind me whose rights were infringed upon here? The people who… what, didn’t agree with a political sign, or the people who were asked to leave a public restaurant? The pictures of them sitting down I don’t see those signs anywhere. So basically because they’re lesbians and because they’re against medicalizing gender non-conforming children someone complained to the place. They were not asked to leave. The men were served and the women were refused service. Police were called because the transgender identified employee feared for their safety in the presence of uppity women. -- source link
