Tales from the Loop is pure 1980s cassette futurism with kid protagonists and a largely family-friendly tone, while Things from the Flood speculatively advances the same setting into the 1990s and presents a world in which cassette futurism’s utopian promises failed to manifest and now everything is slowly falling apart; as you may have gathered, the latter’s tone is rather less kid-friendly! -- source link
