current-mcr-news: frankieromustdie: So damn rad.I can’t believe it’s been 30 years since Nevermind came out… I remember being 10 years old and buying that record. Flash forward to this past weekend my 11 year old daughters had a friend over, and as they did each other’s hair and makeup and danced loudly around their rooms together, i heard a very familiar record being played 30 years later. It’s no secret that, like most kids growing up in the 90’s, Nirvana made an immense impression on me. My dad and grandpop made me want to be a musician, but Nirvana made me want to be in a band. I remember when the original @Fender Jag-stang hit the shelves, my dad bought me one in Sonic Blue. I was floored! (Even though i kinda wanted the Fiesta Red ) It was gorgeous and the exact weapon I needed to play Nirvana songs sloppily in front of my bedroom mirror. Years after i finally joined a band, like Nirvana had inspired me to do. But in order to fund a recording session I sold my Jag-stang and i have regretted it ever since, especially when i saw my father’s face when i told him i had sold the guitar he bought me. It was a gut punch and i never wanted to listen to that demo again… it’s possibly why i find it so hard to this day to part with gear and guitars, or maybe that’s just what i tell my wife. ♀️ Anyway, i’m so happy to see these guitars brought back to life for a new generation of players, that are just as inspired as i was 30 years ago to start a band. Hopefully these new kids get a better job than i had and don’t have to sell their Jag-stangs!thank you @fender thank you kurt and thank you rock and roll. xofrnk [Oct 12, 2021] -- source link
