One thing I’ve always really liked about HXH is that Gon is always relatively inconsequential to the antagonist of the arc ( even Hisoka usually has different primary goal at any interaction) until like the end of it and even then it’s rarely because of Gon himself, it’s cos of one of his friends or he has something the antagonist needs.
