katiedora:Day 7 of #The100DayProject • #TheDiviners by #LibbaBray • Not sure what iteration of the cover design I have on my shelf, but I had no choice other than to love this YA paranormal mystery set in 1920’s New York. There were so many plot lines and interesting characters, and I think my only issue was that *spoiler* the Diviners didn’t start forming any sort of group till the end (whereas I had been expecting the magical teenage version of the Avengers going into it). But this is a great start to a great series, and Libba Bray really knows how to suck you into a story with her writing. • #bookstagram #EvieONeill #ThetaKnight #MabelRose #MemphisCampbell #SamLloyd #JerichoJones #NaughtyJohn #NewYorkCity @libbabray (at Somerville, Massachusetts)https://www.instagram.com/p/CK-csYmHXaB/?igshid=a8jjrf88zgn7can second that! I had some critique towards the end, I think the final confrontation with the antagonist was a bit too much, and that the love story at least at this point seems a little…last minute, left field and ‘just for potential drama’ but I have not read the other books in the series yet. I also have to admit that I am not a big fan of the love portions in almost any novel, unless they are done extremely well and organic, so I am extremely nitpicky/just not a super ‘romantic’ person, so my comment there might be a bit unfair. -- source link
