JACQUES LE CORRE Having studied graphic design and communications, the acclaimed milliner Jacques le Corre worked as a freelancer for several designers including Kenzo, Chloé and Jil Sander. Through these collaborations, Le Corre gained the technical knowledge required to launch his own label. His exploration of the notions of hat wearing and the subsequent challenges one is faced with when travelling and packing a hat led him to create his unique symbolic style, where the hat is both a wearable and functional piece and also an object in its own right. Alongside louche and funky hats he also created sculptural and romantic headwear, combining a scientific approach with a theatrical and futuristic aesthetic. The results are breath-taking and dynamic creations guaranteeing a striking entrance whatever the occasion. Jacque Le Corre died in September 2010. The atelier Jacques Le Corre continues to create the collections respecting his spirit and his direction. Also a designer of bags and accessories, Le Corre created these sensational snakeskin shoes with impossibly high heels. They are therefore a key inclusion in the ELEVATION exhibition curated by Marijke Bruggink & Marlie Witteveen at M°BA CENTRAAL (on show until July 21). http://www.jacqueslecorre.com blog source: http://www.lovehats.com photography © Ali Mahdavi -- source link
