M°BA ATELIERS: by BORRE Borre Akkersdijk is a fashion designer who has collaborated with humans and machines in order to explore his fetish for multi-dimensional textiles and shapes. Following his studies at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, Borre developed innovative knitting and jacquard techniques while at the Design Academy Eindhoven. By working with a mattress knitting machine, Borre was able to create custom designs that respected the essence of production and pattern-making. The entire process has been captured in The First Cycle, a stop-motion animation created in collaboration with Niels Hoebers; an endearing ode to the machines that help us bring fashion to life. In this pop-up atelier, Borre invites you to learn more about his work and gives you the opportunity to participate in the making of your very own by Borre scarf by cutting and sewing (materials fee: €150). -- source link
