Z IS FOR ZEROThe zero you will get on a test if you don’t learn this fetishistic alphabet! The word zero came via French zéro from Venetian zero, which (together with cypher) came via Italian zefiro from Arabic ṣafira = “it was empty” and ṣifr = “zero”, “nothing”. This was a translation of the Sanskrit word shoonya (śūnya), meaning "empty". However there is no need to feel empty because M°BA 13 starts tomorrow, so please visit Arnhem to experience a vast array of inspiring fashion and culture. And for those of you in the virtual world, stay tuned here for more inspiring fetishes. To count down only 0 days to M°BA 13, celebrated Dutch photographer Ruud van der Peijl is sharing his Fetish Alphabet with us, exploring the full gamut of fetishism from A to Z. These images will also be exhibited in Lidewij Edelkoort’s MOOD ROOM at M°BA CENTRAAL from June 9 to July 21, 2013.
