W IS FOR WETCovered or saturated with water or another liquid. Wetlook is the enjoyment of a person or people wearing wet clothing. It can also refer to the act of getting wet while wearing clothes, and having fun either in doing so or in watching others do it. To many, it is a sexual fetish, where pleasure is derived from observation of wet-clothed persons as well as getting wet oneself, but other people enjoy getting wet for entirely non-sexual reasons. A wet t-shirt contest is an exhibitionistic competition typically featuring young women contestants at a nightclub, bar, or resort. To count down the 3 days to M°BA 13, celebrated Dutch photographer Ruud van der Peijl is sharing his Fetish Alphabet with us, exploring the full gamut of fetishism from A to Z. These images will also be exhibited in Lidewij Edelkoort’s MOOD ROOM at M°BA CENTRAAL from June 9 to July 21, 2013.
