Meet Faust, the dark-type gym leader! Faust owns and operates the only casino in Marelu, making it a rather lucrative business. He’s known for his “poker face” in games and battles! He often seems to be doing something shady…When I designed him I just went with “smirky” as the focal design point, so I think that translated well. He’s like a fusion of a sleazy casino owner and the Japanese punk archetype.I recently became involved with a Pokemon fangame project called Pokemon Virtue. I’m designing all of the gym leaders and doing emote art and final art for them. It’s been a really fun experience and I’ve gotten to practice character design a lot. I also switched up my art style a bit to try to somewhat match the Pokemon canon.
