thegentlemanscloset:The wearer of this suit certainly wasn’t afraid of pastel colors. French suit, dating to 1780. Satin, silk and linen. The auction site where this was sold says that the color is purple, but I think it looks more like pink. The buttons are covered with the same fabric and embroidered pattern as the outfit. Also the waist coat seems to be a reverse of the pattern that’s on the edges of the coat. Kind of a nice touch I think.In 2012 it sold at auction for €4,000. -- source link
