thisgingersnapsback: fantasticfemme: thisgingersnapsback: whale-n: mothernaturenetwork: Michelle Duggar pregnant with 20th childThe Duggar family of TLC’s ‘19 Kids & Counting’ is expecting a new arrival. The brood currently consists of 10 boys and 9 girls. HER POOR POOR VAGINA. But if its what she wants, that’s cool. If that’s what she wants, that’s fine, but I wonder about the financial stability in situations like these. I also wonder how much it’s her wanting, and how much it’s encouraged. I also wonder about the health of the children after about child five or so… I mean, things get tricky after a while. Plus the emotional stress on a mother who is mothering twenty children. I dunno. I mean, it’s her choice, not going to say it isn’t, but I am going to chime in and say it doesn’t sit well with me. This is what the Quiverfull movement looks like. And no, it’s not OK with me. Yeah, I knew there was something about it that left a nasty taste in my mouth. It’s definitely not OK with me, either. I mean, a choice is a choice… but encouragement and indoctrination to the point of poor health and forced labour (because brainwashing doesn’t negate force) are not “choices.” Michelle Duggar almost died having her last child. To save her life, the child was delivered extremely prematurely and almost died as well. They both got very lucky, but Michelle is considered very high risk at this point. On the show where they announced the pregnancy, she talked about how she would “lay down her life” for this child and how the fact that she almost died last time is no reason not to get pregnant again. I firmly believe in choice for all women, even when I completely disagree with the choice. But that doesn’t mean I think that all choices are emotionally healthy or positive, and I think this definitely falls into that category. I also think that the Duggars have been pretty blatant about promoting their personal beliefs, and I think that opens them up to criticism on those beliefs. Right now, they’re pushing the idea that a potential baby is more important than the life and health of a living woman. The fact that the woman is complicit in this doesn’t make me any less creeped out by the message. -- source link
