I gave this book five stars because I love the imagination and creativity behind this series, though I will say, just for me personally, I have never really liked the Jack and Jill storyline, or the Moors as a world. It is just way to dark, grim and sometimes gross for my taste. That being said, this book was another wonderful installment. Jack, along with the love of her life, Alexis, returns to Eleanor’s Home for Wayward Children seeking help. Her sister Jill has stolen her body, Dr. Blake is in danger and unless Jill and the Master’s plans are stopped, the Moors itself is in terrible danger. Christopher, Cora, Sumi and Kade return to the Moors with Jack and Alexis to try and thwart Jill’s schemes. I may not like the overall plot of the Moors, but I like Jack as a character. She has such a unique voice and personality. All the Wayward children do, but some stand out more than others, suck as Jack and Sumi. Sumi is such a contradiction, you expect her to be all sweetness and light, having gone to Confection, but she also has this dark streak that makes her a really intense character. Christopher and Kade provide the grounded characters, and some great comic relief. Cora’s story in this book in really interesting as well, she goes on quite the journey. Each of the books in this series is so unique and creative. The worlds are amazingly built, and the characters so distinct. There is not one that I have not enjoyed, some more than others, but I have liked them all. -- source link
