lotuseating: haustrum: When we were 15 and different people by Naqi Guay Hejisheng practically overnight, i “wrote” this collection of poems, all poems that i had done nearly 3 years ago when i was only 15 years old. I became my own editor for some of them, swapping titles and chopping out parts and deleting passive language. Some were perfect as they are. It was bittersweet to see how much different I am from that person. but i’ll just copy and paste some of the description here: “Through semi-surrealist means, the writer brings forth a true reflection of teenage days. These poems explore the concepts of loss, race issues, being Eurasian Singaporean, being forced to move to a foreign white-dominated country, consideration of suicide and many different forms of abuse. More themes include the start of Hejisheng’s descent into chronic illness and pain, with implications of incest, sexual abuse and bitterness about the People’s Action Party in Singapore.“ Those are all the trigger warnings for it as well, and the heavier stuff is loosely implied and not outright said. also i’m sorry in advance for the bad formatting - i did all i could for literally 3 hours but there were slight differences with Word’s A5 and Lulu’s. bonus content includes: did you get a shoutout in this book? maybe please do check out my book! if you can’t buy it then please reblog this so i can start my career as a young writer! also if you buy my book please tag me or post pics of you with it! i would love to see you all! by the way i want people to read this more than I want money for it (pls keep in mind tho that i dont and cant have a job) so: if you can’t afford the price i have on store please message me and i’ll issue an discount for you -- source link
