“Allegory of Rome,” Fascist Era Bas-Relief, Government Building, Rome, 2009.While the Mussolini dictatorship, like most dictatorships, was ultimately a disaster, it left behind some fascinating artifacts. The fascist movement included many first-rank artists among its early followers, and thus some quite good art works remain. About this bas-relief I know nothing more than its approximate date and its general location as my notes fail me. The title is one I assigned to it, not an official one. -- source link
