thecosplayerintheyukata: thecosplayerintheyukata: So, I wanna start making yukatas to sell the one in the picture is for sale. It is currently at home but I can have my parents bring it to me in a few weeks. I think that the measurements of the yukata will fit a person my height (5'2") or shorter with a shoulder to shoulder length of a bit more then 22" or smaller. I almost forgot the price is $48 plus shipping. This is not a yukata. At best, this is a robe made of poor quality fabric. Do not compare this to authentic yukata, which has history and culture dating back thousands of years. If you– or anyone else– plan to wear yukata, kimono, etc. without an invitation from us (despite the fact that we continually discourage you from doing so), the least you can do is support a Japanese maker/buyer/seller. The yukata is not yours to take and cheapen.Furthermore, the yukata and other garments are not costumes. You proudly refer to yourself as “the costume-player in the yukata” as if it uniquely sets you apart from other cosplayers, but it does not. It is disrespectful and perpetuates the idea that the land, people, and traditions of Japan are nothing more than “Animeland” for white consumption. Please, stop.☆ Hana -- source link
