Because of the decorations, it resembles all those exaggerated fantasy swords, but while they are just campy and riddiculus, these one is simply intriguing and gorgeous. The hooks on the blade are actually a useful thing - they provide additional defence against attacks of pole weapons or other longswords. -- source link
