ghostofpatroclus:enjolrasses:quick sketch of Grantaire kissing a marble statue (Apollo? Apollo.) based on thisEnjolras tried to overthrow a second-generation tyrant in ancient Athens (second-generation tyrants were never as good as the first). He failed and was sentenced to death, but he was a favorite of the gods, so they granted him life as a statue, doomed to be forever watching and never being able to affect change (gifts from gods don’t always go well, just ask Tithonus). Then, about 2500 years later, he’s in an art museum mistaken as a statue of Apollo. There’s an art student that sits in front of him every day, sketching him over and over and over. Enjolras learns his name is Grantaire, or R to his friends, he cares deeply about so much but hides that part of himself around anyone else, he seems so sad when he’s alone, but when he’s around his friends he lights up and becomes so beautiful. Enjolras falls in love. One day, no one else is in the museum, so Grantaire walks up to him and kisses him once, gently. And that’s all it takes. Enjolras becomes a man once more, freed from the gods’ curse. He leans into Grantaire and kisses him back. R jumps back, startled. But after Enjolras explains, he blushes and says “So true love’s first kiss, huh?” And Enjolras smiles at him and pulls him close once more.Enjolras goes on to start a revolutionary group. Grantaire stays with him and even brings friends like Jehan and Bahorel to join Enjolras’ new group. And together, they go on to save the world.i love this.you did ityou made the legend of Pygmalion good and not gross -- source link
