Last time I reviewed HVV, I was attracted to a vibrant emerald green set with cage-like strap details. Conversely, here I thought I would try one of Helen’s frilly, ultra-girly styles in the ballet peach. I like the demure-but-not-immature air of the style and shade. More chic than pink, this peach silk reminded me of ballet slippers of my youth, an elegant femininity. The soft-cup bra has ruffles on the shoulders, the band is wide elastic and ribbon ties at the front, in the centre of the cups. It offers a sufficient, but not big, amount of support, is very comfortable and I can get away with wearing it throughout the day, but I do not think I would recommend it for anyone over a DD cup. Under that and you are more than fine! These briefs were made custom for me as per request and were not initially in the collection. However, Helen liked them so much (after I suggested a brief with hip ruffle) that now they are! We were both very happy with how they turned out! They cute and feel divine on the skin- HVV materials are great quality. This set looks amazing without a suspender already, but even more so with. The most beautiful aspect of this one is the lace-up back. It’s a wide, almost retro shape. Combined with the knit stockings, this look is very ‘comfort luxury’ and something that reminds me of a Dauphine. A more simple and chic Marie Antoinette. This set is perfect for languid afternoon lounging of a more playful and character-filled variety. It is, at the same time, pretty and without care. Think couch, netflix at 4pm and a glass of champagne probably too expensive for the occasion.
