I don’t want to be dropping Patreon links too much, but I need to bang it in now and then as, because of the nature of Tumblr and it’s scrolling, people tend to respond to the last thing you’ve said. I’m sure I’ll find a balance, putting it on just the request related stuff and such…but in the meantime I had a couple of things to say!Firstly: A huge thank you. I didn’t really know what to expect when I created it, I know I have a whole bunch of awesome fans but it was a wonderful surprise to see how many people have reached out to help. In just a short time it’s at a point where it makes the laser treatments really pretty manageable. I didn’t imagine I’d get close, and while I assume it will go up and down from where it is, as long as it doesn’t drop too much, it looks like I get to carry on doing this whole thing and I can’t tell you how happy that makes me. Y'all are amazing. I can’t say it enough, but I’m hugely grateful, to everyone, but especially to all those who’ve been able to throw a few coins my way. Secondly, I was planning on putting some longer text things on there to not overly glue up the front page. Ironic, as that’s what this post is doing….I’m not promising anything soon, as I tend to type when inspiration strikes, but I felt the anal prep post I made a few days ago was both too short and too long, farming it off elsewhere and linking seems like a cool solution. So watch that space. Or this one. When inspiration strikes!Thirdly, in an attempt to head some things off at the pass I wanted to clarify a thing: I’ve had a few offers of professional (or similar) work since I opened the Patreon, and whilst I appreciate and am very much flattered by these, I worry that it’s given the wrong impression (likely the “last thing you’ve said” problem!). I won’t say never, because something interesting might just pop up, but I’m genuinely not looking to make money here. That might sound odd as surely “some money” is better than “no money”, but I get a lot out of this little hobby of mine and simply don’t want that to change. I don’t want barriers to people seeing my stuff, or to take pictures for something other than the thrill. I’m not overly keen on the patreon, truth be told, but there are costs I can’t cover and it’s a way to do that without impacting the nature of the beast. So to those who have offered such things or may, thank you, seriously, but I’m happy where I am right now =) -- source link
