About Vincenzo De Cotiis Vincenzo De Cotiis was born in 1958 in Gonzaga, Italy. He studied architecture at the Milan Polytechnic and founded his own studio in 1997. The Studio produces an innovative appropriation of salvaged and reclaimed materials, often possesing signs of age and use, juxtaposed with the new, precious materials or with an industrial approach. Rough and raw defines De Cotiis’s unique and original style. Perfect imperfection, achieved through deconstruction, reconstruction and reappropriation of salvaged textile, metal, wood, leather and stone. His works are abstract in nature with deterioration from time left visible, as De Cotiis finds beauty in the patina of life, this belief is reflected in his many architectural and interior projects for private homes, hotels, restaurants and retail spaces around the world, as well as in his furniture design work. Under the Progetto Domestico label, De Cotiis designs and produces one off and limited edition furniture pieces, and like his architectural work incorporates recycled and reclaimed materials.
