Day 2Reflections on: God Told Me To (1976)Holy shit this movie is so good!It felt very modern, unlike other 70′s horror movies. The cinematography was innovative, often hand-held, sometimes almost experimental with distorted colours. Blue shirts seem violet, city lights glow green. The music is also excellent.Beautiful opening credit sequence.Larry Cohen made this right after It’s Alive (1974) and like that film, this one is also full of excellent acting. These character actors all give surprisingly memorable performances. Everyone seems familiar yet unplaceable.Andy Kaufman plays a small role (his first ever), but gets to say the title of the movie twice. The plot twists and turns in very unpredictable ways. It reminded me of Possession (1981) or a long episode of The X Files. Watch this! -- source link
