The Greek mathematician and inventor Archimedes found that when a body increases in dimensions and retains its geometric similarity, its volume and weight increase much faster. A 20% increase in human height equals, on average, a 73% increase in body mass (1.2 × 1.2 × 1.2 = 1.73). This also works the other way around. A 20% decrease in height would decrease mass by over 51% (0.8 × 0.8 × 0.8 = 0.512). If a person stood at 50cm, they would weigh less than 2 kilograms and consume only 2% of the resources an average person needs today. -- source link
