This is real life, this is motherhood. Taking our toddler for a walk at midnight last night, in our third attempt to coax this child into sleep. Parenting is a constant give and take. You take them happily staying up through both seders, cooperating through the whole, recently established bedtime routine at 1:30am and then sleeping in super late with you both post-Seder days. You give(up) an easy bedtime the following night, because of course she isn’t interested in going to bed at a reasonable 9:00pm or her normal 11:00pm bedtime and even fights sleep till the last second at the absurd hour of 12:00am. It was exhausting and frustrating, but the weather was beautiful, it was peaceful and quiet outside. It lent my husband and I some quality time, time to bond over our crazy kid and feel like we’re in this parenting thing together, some thing I don’t always feel when we’re home and tag-teaming childcare, while the other one works or rests, through the day and night. I’ll take more sweet moments like that…. but I’d give anything for an easier bedtime tonight! #tiredmamaeyes #stillawakeandfightingsleepinthispic #babywearing #babycarriers @integrababycarrier (at Orlando, Florida) -- source link
