diadria:revolutionary-mindset: There’s so much bad news swirling around these days, that I thought it’d be nice to share a happy, feel good story. It’s Friday and we want you to go home lifted. 4-year-old Calise Manning is going to help you do just that. Little Calise, from Kalamazoo, Michigan, is being called a hero after calling 911 operators when her pregnant mother was having a seizure. Centerria Manning, Calise’s mother trained her daughter to call authorities if anything ever happened to her. And all of that was put to very good use last week when Centerria, who was 9-months pregnant, collapsed onto the floor, shaking. Instead of panicking, Calise sprang into action. In the 911 audio, obtained by CNN little Calise says, “My mom is really pregnant and she’s having a boy and she really needs help.” During the nearly seven-and-a-half minute call, she gave the dispatcher her name, her mom’s age and address. It seems that even the dispatcher was impressed and asked Calise how old she was. She responded, “Four. Yes, and I’m almost getting bigger.” Calise’s quick thinking and excellent training that ultimately saved not only her mother’s life but the life of her younger brother. Two days later, Centerria gave birth to a healthy baby boy named TJ. Centerria, who has been training Calise since she was two, recounted the incident, “I got up and that’s all I can remember. I woke up and my daughter Calise was standing over me and she was on the phone with 911…I was so proud of her because we practiced and I teach her–because I’m an epileptic– the address and my full name and things like that, and how to dial 911.” The 911 dispatcher suggested that Calise get some type of award for handling herself so well under pressure and saving her mother and brother’s lives. Later that day Centerria said Calise looked down at her and said, “I told you I was going to take care of you if something happened.” This is beautiful! -- source link
