Tomasz Majewski - double Olympic Gold Medalist in shot putOne of the great Polish champions. He took part in four Olympic Games, and twice came back with a Gold Medal. In Bejing he won his medal after quite eventful competition, beating his oponents with a throw almost 0,5m longer. It was first gold medal for Poland those Olympics and a first one in men’s shot put since 1972. In London he defended the title in a great style - each shot longer than the other, in his final throw reaching 21,89 m, beating the second one with a precise of 2 cm. The Olympic Games in Rio were the last in his career as he’s intending to retire from sports. He wrote on his facebook page: “My Olympic adventure in Rio is slowly coming to an end. Olympic Games are a celebration of sport and I’m happy, that once again I’ve participating in this amazing event I fought in a great competition and I’ve been placed 6th.
